ARTISANAL LA

October 20, 2014

Fall-2014-Poster-w-Bleed-copy-657x1000Sorry I haven’t posted in a little while, things got in the way. There was some travel, some adventuring and more eating than blogging. Which also means that in my future there had better be some gym-going! Ah, the search for the food blog/life balance…

One of my favorite activities blends all of the above distractions into one glorious afternoon: the food fair. Getting to one can require travel (my drive from one end of LA to the other qualified as a road trip), if you’re a brave taster it will always be adventurous, and my word is there eating! Last weekend my girlfriends and I hit up the Artisanal LA fall show which included, in their words, “makers, crafters, artisans and chefs.” Although the crafts were charming and the organic beauty potions, lotions and creams were a delight, it was the food that won the day. Creativity was high at the various booths (each vendor decorates their own space) and I left inspired, nursing a sugar-high and a tummy-ache, and oh so happy.

Each booth felt different, like lovely, mini boutiques.

*Tip: following your city’s local food shops, artisans and boutique owners on Twitter and Instagram is a great way to find out about events in your area. Happy tasting!♥

Because life is too short to shoo away the bread basket. Live, love, eat with abandon. Pass the butter please.

About Me

rachelle I have no desire to be a food blogger. Although the existence of this, my food blog, would suggest otherwise. I’m not a brilliant cook and am certainly no culinary expert but where I do excel is eating; I eat with abandon.
